Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly planning a mass summer clearout of seven players, and the list includes the likes of Hector Bellerin and Lucas Torreira.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta supposedly wants to do away with as many as seven players this summer.

The Gunners' European hopes for the 2020-21 campaign are hanging by a thread, and a season without continental football would have a major impact on the club's finances.

However, Arteta is supposedly keen to strengthen in a number of areas, with a new right-back, left-back, creative midfielder and striker thought to be on the Gunners' wishlist.

According to The Athletic, Arteta will hope to fund new signings through a mass exodus of players, including Mathew Ryan and Dani Ceballos, whose loan deals expire at the end of the season.

The report also adds that Matteo Guendouzi, Lucas Torreira, Reiss Nelson, Hector Bellerin and David Luiz - the latter of whom is out of contract in the summer - could all be on the way out in a couple of months' time.

Arteta is said to be prioritising a permanent move for Real Madrid loanee Martin Odegaard, but the Arsenal boss could turn to Nabil Fekir or Julian Brandt if the Norway captain proves too expensive.

The Gunners announced on Tuesday that Folarin Balogun had signed a new long-term deal, but uncertainty still lingers over the futures of Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette.
