Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne fit to face Arsenal

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirms that World Cup semi-finalists Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne will be available to face Arsenal in the season opener.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne will both be available for Sunday's Premier League match against Arsenal.

Both players made it all the way to the final weekend of this summer's World Cup with England and Belgium respectively and only returned to training on Monday after being given an extended break following their international exploits.

City were expected to allow the pair another week of training before bringing them back into competitive action, but Guardiola has confirmed that they are available for the season opener at the Emirates Stadium.

"Raheem and Kevin arrived in a perfect way," Guardiola told reporters at his pre-match press conference.

Sterling scored a career-best 23 goals last season, while De Bruyne topped the Premier League assists charts with 16 as Man City won the title in record-breaking fashion.
