Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly contemplating whether to hand a senior debut to Charlie Patino during Tuesday's EFL Cup tie with Sunderland.

Arsenal youngster Charlie Patino may reportedly be handed his first-team debut during the EFL Cup quarter-final tie against Sunderland.

The 18-year-old has made a constant impression at Premier League 2 level this season, featuring on 12 occasions, while he has also played twice in the EFL Trophy.

However, according to The Mirror, the midfielder may be selected in the squad for Tuesday's fixture against the League One side.

The report claims that Patino was one of a number of prospects who have been pictured taking part in first-team training ahead of the game at the Emirates Stadium.

Although Mikel Arteta will still name a strong team for the last-eight showdown, there could be opportunities for the younger crop in the second half.

Arsenal are also scheduled to face Norwich City and Wolverhampton Wanderers within the next seven days.
