Motherwell consolidated second second spot as Dundee fell to another comprehensive defeat in the Scottish Premier League.

Nicky Law helped himself to a rare double and the prolific Michael Higdon struck his 22nd goal of the season to hand Stuart McCall's side a 3-0 victory.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle did keep up the pressure, though, as they won 2-1 at Hibernian.

It was a bad day for the Edinburgh clubs as Niall McGinn scored a brace in Aberdeen's 2-0 victory over Hearts.

James Fowler's early goal was enough to give Kilmarnock a 1-0 win at Ross County that keeps them in the crucial sixth place spot with just a week to go until the division splits in two.
