Chennai Super Kings beat Rajasthan Royals by seven runs

Chennai Super Kings beat Rajasthan Royal by seven runs in the Indian Premier League.

Chennai Super Kings have sealed a seven-run win over Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League this evening.

Rajasthan won the toss and chose to let Chennai bat first, and appeared to have put in a strong performance in the field by restricting the visitors to 140-6.

Dwayne Smith and Brendan McCullum started the Chennai innings brightly, but the New Zealand international was dismissed for just six runs.

Smith went on to make 50 before four Chennai wickets fell in quick succession, although Ravindra Jadeja finished with 36 off 33 balls in the final overs.

In reply, Ajinkya Rahane and Sanju Samson had a 27-run partnership early in the home side's innings, but they were reduced to 85-8 inside 15 overs.

Rajat Bhatia and Dhawal Kulkarni tried to give the Royals some late hope, but Faf du Plessis managed to run out Pravin Tambe to bowl the team out for 133.

Jadeja was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors, finishing the innings with 4-33 from four overs.
