England bowler Mark Wood handed ECB central contract

England bowler Mark Wood is handed his first central contract by the England and Wales Cricket Board.

England bowler Mark Wood has been awarded with his first central contract by the England and Wales Cricket Board.

The 25-year-old is one of 11 players to have been given a contract for 2015-16, along with one-day captain Eoin Morgan.

Durham paceman Wood has been rewarded for his performances since breaking into the Test and one-day sides this summer. He has taken 19 wickets in six Test matches so far, including 10 in the Ashes series victory over Australia.

James Tredwell has not been kept on by the ECB, while Adil Rashid has been awarded an incremental contract.
