Freddie Roach delighted at Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather Jr fight

Freddie Roach claims that he was the "happiest guy in the world" when Floyd Mayweather Jr officially announced that he would be fighting Manny Pacquiao in May.

Freddie Roach has claimed that he was the "happiest guy in the world" when Floyd Mayweather Jr officially announced that he would be fighting Manny Pacquiao.

The pair finally agreed to fight on May 2 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and the clash is expected to set a new pay-per-view buy-rate for the sport.

Roach, who trains Pacquiao, expressed his delight to The Mirror, and the 55-year-old believes that Pac-Man has the edge going into the fight.

He said: "When I heard the fight was on, I was the happiest guy in the world. We have had two training days and I am happy with where everything is. By the time the fight comes round Manny will have everything glued in his head.

"My guy is too fast, he hits too hard. I think Floyd's legs are shot. He says he wants to stand and trade more and entertain the fans more, but I don't think that is true.

"I have been in some big fights before, but this is something else. It makes everything else we have been involved with like a little game show."

Pacquiao described the meeting as "historic" at a press conference on Wednesday.
