Audley Harrison to return against Eddie Chambers?

British heavyweight Audley Harrison could return to the ring for the first time in 15 months against American Eddie Chambers.

A heavyweight clash between Olympic gold medallist Audley Harrison and former world title challenger Eddie Chambers could take place later this month.

Harrison briefly announced that he was retiring from the sport after being stopped in 70 seconds by Deontay Wilder in April 2013, but despite reversing his decision, the 42-year-old has continued to be denied a high-profile return to the ring.

However, with Chambers still without an opponent for his bout on the undercard of the world title eliminator between Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora, a showdown between the Brit and the American, who have involved themselves in a Twitter spat over the past 48 hours, could potentially happen in just under three weeks' time.

Harrison has stated that he would be interested in the fight, while Chambers, despite insisting that the Brit is chasing a big pay day, indicated last month that he would agree to a match with Harrison if he was unable to find an opponent for his appearance in Manchester.

Chambers was knocked out in the final round of his world title encounter with Wladimir Klitschko in 2010, but after joining forces with trainer Peter Fury, he has recorded three routine wins during 2014.
