Tyson Fury: 'David Haye never wanted this fight'

Tyson Fury reacts with anger to the news that David Haye has withdrawn from their heavyweight bout for the second time in eight weeks.

Tyson Fury has claimed that David Haye is running scared after withdrawing from a second fight in just over eight weeks.

Haye revealed last night that doctors have advised him to retire following reconstructive surgery on his right shoulder, forcing him to pull out of a rescheduled February 8 date.

Their initial September 28 bout had to be postponed when the former WBA world heavyweight champion suffered a cut above his eye in his final week of sparring.

"I'm absolutely furious but in all honesty this is exactly what I expected," Fury told the Daily Mail.

"Everyone knows I was very suspicious when he pulled out the first time and this confirms to me that he's always been afraid of me and never wanted this fight."

Fury's promoter Mick Hennessy has said that he is considering legal action following the cancellation of the pay-per-view fight.
