Kyrie Irving hopes to play again this season

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving hopes that he will be able to return from a biceps strain before the end of the season.

Kyrie Irving has said that he has not ruled out returning to action this season, despite suffering a biceps strain.

The Cleveland Cavaliers point guard will miss at least two weeks while he recovers from the injury, forcing him to miss eight of the team's 15 remaining games this season.

The 21-year-old told ESPN: "If you could take a positive from the situation, obviously that would be one, that at this point I don't have to get surgery, which is tremendous.

"We'll see in two weeks. I'm not going to give a definitive answer because I don't know that answer. At this point, I'm just going to continue to support my teammates and be on the sideline.

"Whatever the medical team needs me to do and whatever's in my best interests, I'm going to do."

The Australian, who was named MVP during this year's All-Star game, has averaged 21.2 points per game this season.
