Kevin Love "highly unlikely" to return in playoffs

Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love is likely to miss the rest of the playoffs with a shoulder injury, according to general manager David Griffin.

Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin has revealed that Kevin Love is "highly unlikely" to play again in this season's playoffs.

Love dislocated his shoulder while challenging for the ball with Kelly Olynyk in the early stages of Sunday's win over the Boston Celtics, which earned them their place in the Eastern Conference semi-finals.

Olynyk has since been suspended for one game by the NBA, but the punishment will not come as consolation to the Cavaliers, who are set to continue the title bid without their All-Star forward.

"I think it would be a real surprise if he were able to participate in the post-season," Griffin told reporters. "I've still got a sliver of hope very late, but highly unlikely."

Cleveland will be without JR Smith for the first two games of the second-round series against Chicago Bulls or the Milwaukee Bucks after he was suspended for striking Boston's Jae Crowder on Sunday.
