Bethany Woodward admits that her medal was "way above" her expectations heading into the Paralympics.

Great Britain's T37 200m silver medal winner Bethany Woodward has admitted that her achievement was "way above" her expectations heading into the Paralympics.

Woodward, who surged from fourth into second after the straight to take silver, also admitted that she was working so hard she wasn't sure if she placed in the medal positions.

"I didn't realise [that I won the silver]," Woodward said. "I was completely full of lactic trying to dip so I had to wait for it to come up on the board to realise I'd got the silver.

"It's extremely difficult [to run with cerebral palsy]. Your body is doing one thing and your brain is trying to get it to do another.

"To get a silver medal here is way above my expectations."

Woodward was some way behind the eventual winner Johanna Benson of Namibia.
