San Diego Chargers' Eric Weddle to end holdout by attending minicamp

San Diego Chargers safety Eric Weddle will attend his side's minicamp despite his feelings of unrest about not being handed a new contract.

San Diego Chargers safety Eric Weddle will end his holdout and participate in his side's minicamp this week.

The 30-year-old admitted that he felt disrespected by the club after they had not come to terms on a long-term extension, as his current deal with the AFC West side expires at the end of the season.

San Diego general manager Tom Telesco insisted that there was nothing sinister behind the talks, but Weddle refused to participate in their off-season activities.

However, Weddle has now had a change of heart and will return for the Chargers' mandatory minicamp this week.

"We're disappointed and will continue to be disappointed," his agent David Canter told U-T San Diego. But Eric will go all out this season."

Weddle was named an All-Pro for his displays in the 2014 season.
