Former New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount joins the Pittsburgh Steelers on a two-year contract.

Former New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount has signed a two-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Blount is expected to provide backup for Le'Veon Bell on the Steelers roster, although he established himself as a key player for the Patriots in the second half of last season.

The 27-year-old rushed for 772 yards and seven touchdowns in his solitary season in New England having joined them after spending three years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

He has rushed for 2,711 yards and 20 touchdowns in his four NFL seasons since going undrafted in 2010.

The two-year contract is reportedly worth $3.85m (£2.3m), including a $950,000 (£570,000) signing bonus, although the Steelers have not officially confirmed the financial details of the deal.
