Philadelphia Eagles sign Tim Tebow on one-year deal

The Philadelphia Eagles sign quarterback Tim Tebow on a one-year deal to revive his NFL career after he spent the 2014 season out of the game.

The Philadelphia Eagles have revived the NFL career of quarterback Tim Tebow by signing him to their roster.

The 27-year-old has been out of the league since he was released by the New England Patriots ahead of the 2013 season after a tumultuous three years in the NFL.

Tebow rose to prominence when he became the Denver Broncos starter in the 2011 season and guided the club to the playoffs, where they won one match, beating the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The quarterback was then traded to the New York Jets in the off-season and failed to win the starter's job before he was released in 2013 and joined the Patriots where he was cut after their training camp.

However, Chip Kelly's men have offered Tebow a lifeline for his career and he has signed a one-year deal with the NFC East outfit to compete for a roster spot for the 2015 campaign.

Tebow has thrown for 2,422 yards and 17 touchdowns to nine interceptions in his three seasons in the NFL.
