Philadelphia Eagles "embarrassed" by Tampa Bay Buccaneers loss

Philadelphia Eagles linebackers Connor Barwin and DeMeco Ryans admit their embarrassment at losing at home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by nearly 30 points on Sunday.

Philadelphia Eagles players have admitted that they were "embarrassed" by their 45-17 defeat to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

The 28-point defeat was the Eagles' biggest losing margin this season and leaves them third in the NFC East with a 4-6 record to start the campaign.

The loss was evidently hard to take for some of their players, who admitted their humiliation at being beaten so heavily at home.

"It is really embarrassing," linebacker Connor Barwin told the club's website. "I think that everybody understands. Look at the score, we played at home and they beat us by [nearly] 30? It was bad all around, it was bad everywhere. Obviously very disappointing, very embarrassing."

Fellow linebacker DeMeco Ryans added: "It is terrible, it is a bad feeling. To get beaten like that, it is a horrible feeling, one you just have to suck up and take. They outplayed us today. The only good part about this is that we have a short week and we get to go out and redeem ourselves on Thursday."

The Eagles face a trip to the Detroit Lions on Thursday night.
