Cleveland Browns left "frustrated" by Josh Gordon suspension decision

An NFL insider says that the Cleveland Browns feel the league could have been quicker in deciding the fate of wide receiver Josh Gordon.

The Cleveland Browns have apparently been "frustrated" by the length of time Josh Gordon's suspension appeal has taken.

Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Media has revealed that the franchise has been annoyed by the fiasco surrounding Gordon's drugs ban, which the league upheld on Wednesday.

Browns coach Mike Pettine has been forced to include Gordon in his preseason plans in the event that the wide receiver would not be banned. However, now that he has, Pettine must find a quick fix for the team.

Kinkhabwala told NFL.com: "We saw this week how visibly frustrated Mike Pettine was with this process.

"He's been so careful not to call out the NFL, not to call out the arbitrator, but he admitted this week that they were impatiently waiting.

"Pettine told me 'I need to see my other receivers. I know I'm not going to have Josh Gordon for at least some period of time and we need to know who else we have.' It's taken longer than they would have liked, I'm sure."

According to Kinkhabwala, the Browns also felt that a decision could have been made before Tuesday's initial roster cuts.
