Ryan Moore became the first post-war jockey to ride nine winners at Royal Ascot by winning the final race of day four aboard Aloft.

The 31-year-old registered eight wins over the first three days to equal the record of Lester Piggott and Pat Eddery, but had to wait until the last race today to break the record.

Moore came through down the middle of the track in the Queen's Vase Handicap, holding off Tommy Docc and Future Empire on 5-2 favourite Aboard.

He still has one day of the festival left to extend the record further.
