'Quiz' writer planning spinoff series

The writer of ITV's Quiz says that he is planning a spinoff show centred on the game show syndicate that featured fleetingly in the series.

James Graham, writer of the ITV series Quiz, has revealed that he hopes to pen a spinoff show in the near future.

The three-part series told the story of Major Charles Ingram, who was found guilty of cheating his way to the top prize on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? in 2001.

During the show it was revealed that a sophisticated game show 'syndicate' - headed up by Paddy Spooner - had managed to get hundreds of contestants onto the famous chair, including Ingram.

"The joy of writing something like this as well is you start to realise there's just too much information and you glance at these people only briefly," Graham told the Final Answer podcast.

"But there's definitely a spin off show with Paddy Spooner and the syndicate that we that we should make one day."

Former Millionaire host Chris Tarrant has said that he is completely convinced that Ingram cheated, describing him as "a rotter and a cad and a bandit".
