Heroes creator Tim Kring is reportedly developing a third iteration of the saga called Heroes: Eclipsed.

Heroes creator Tim Kring is said to be working on a third iteration of the saga called Heroes: Eclipsed.

The drama - about a group of disparate people around the world who discover they have superpowers - originally aired for four seasons between 2006 and 2010, drawing as many as 16 million viewers in the US.

A 13-episode spinoff, Heroes Reborn - featuring a mostly-new cast - then followed in 2015 but was dropped after just one season.

According to Deadline, Kring is now developing a new follow-up called Heroes: Eclipsed which would be an ongoing series rather than a limited one.

The publication describes the show as being "set years after the events of the original series as new evos are being awakened and discovering powers that will change their lives. Featuring familiar villains and new enemies who once again will be attempting to suppress this next step in human evolution, it will be up to this new group of heroes to save the world."

Heroes: Eclipsed is being pitched by Kring to original broadcaster NBC and several of the big streamers.
