Graziano Di Prima will reportedly be the professional half of Strictly Come Dancing's first all-male couple.

Graziano Di Prima has reportedly been picked to be the professional half of Strictly Come Dancing's first male-male couple this year.

The show is expected to introduce its first male same-sex couple this series after Nicola Adams blazed a trail by partnering up with Katya Jones last year.

Italian dancer Di Prima, 27, who is straight, has spoken frequently about his desire to dance with a male celebrity and according to The Sun, his wish has now been granted by producers.

"The bosses are thrilled that Strictly will be able to show its first all-male couple this year," a source told the newspaper.

"They have their sights firmly on Graziano. There is no reason why a gay celebrity should automatically be paired with a gay dancer."

The newspaper also claims that chat show host Alan Carr and Olympic diver Tom Daley - currently competing for Team GB at the Tokyo Olympics - are among the male celebrities to have been approached about being part of the pairing.

The new series of Strictly begins on BBC One at the end of September.
