Tamar Braxton: 'I was at the lowest point of my life'

Tamar Braxton opens up on her suicide attempt on July, admitting that she was at her "lowest point of life".

Tamar Braxton has given her first interview since she made an attempt on her own life in July.

The 43-year-old singer and reality star was rushed to hospital after being found unresponsive by her boyfriend David Adefeso in their Los Angeles hotel room, having allegedly taken a combination of pills and alcohol.

Appearing on Wednesday's edition of The Tamron Hall Show, Braxton was asked to clarify how she had attempted suicide but refused to elaborate out of respect for her impressionable fans.

"It's so hard to say, Tamron, because I feel like there's a responsibility for - you know, I call them family, my fans, who watch," she said.

"I don't want to give any examples. But what I will say is, that was my lowest point of life.

"It's been a lot of dark, hard times. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety due to a circumstance."

In September Adefoso allegedly filed for a restraining order against Braxton claiming domestic violence.
