A new 10-second trailer is released as the countdown to Doctor Who's return this autumn gets underway.

A new trailer has been released heralding the return of Doctor Who this autumn.

David Tennant is back as The Doctor, alongside old companion Donna Noble (Catherine Tate), for three special episodes airing in November to mark the show's 60th anniversary.

The new 10-second advert - styled to appear as an interruption to regular BBC programming - features a number of clues, including audio which when played backwards appears to be Donna asking "Why did this face come back?"

A series of binary codes are deciphered to reference 'The Star Beast', a 1980 comic which contained two monsters - the Wrath Warriors and the Meeps - while there is also an on-screen reference to "EV1305", which suggests that further footage could be released on the day of the Eurovision final on May 13.
