Alison Hammond will replace Matt Lucas as Noel Fielding's co-host on the next series of The Great British Bake Off, it is confirmed.

Alison Hammond has been officially revealed as Noel Fielding's new co-host on The Great British Bake Off.

The This Morning presenter, 48, replaces Matt Lucas, who announced last year that he was stepping down from the role due to other work commitments.

Hammond is no stranger to the famous Bake Off tent, having took part in the celebrity version in 2020.

"Finally I can talk about it! I'm absolutely thrilled to be joining The Great British Bake Off and can't wait to meet this year's bakers," she said. "It's a huge honour to be back in the tent and I can't wait to get started."

Executive producer Kieran Smith added: "Alison has already proved herself to be a natural on Bake Off, maybe not as a baker, but as someone who brings an infectious warmth and humour into the tent and we can't wait for this year's bakers to meet her and Noel. Welcome to The Great British Bake Off..."

Filming on the new series is due to begin in the next few weeks ahead of an expected August start date on Channel 4.
