Andy Murray pulls out of Hurlingham match

World number one Andy Murray pulls out of a second exhibition match at Hurlingham in order to rest his hip ahead of Wimbledon.

Andy Murray has pulled out of his exhibition match at Hurlingham on Friday in order to rest his hip ahead of Wimbledon.

The world number one had already withdrawn from another exhibition match against Lucas Pouille on Tuesday due to the problem, missing the chance to get valuable grass-court practice under his belt ahead of his Wimbledon title defence.

The 30-year-old was eliminated in the first round at Queen's last week, meaning that he will not play a competitive match for two weeks before opening Wimbledon on Centre Court on July 3.

"Sadly I won't be ready to play at The Hurlingham tomorrow, my hip is still sore and I need to rest it today, and likely tomorrow," Murray said in a statement.

Murray, who is a two-time champion at SW19, has been seeded first for the tournament.
