PSG team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Bordeaux

Sports Mole rounds up PSG's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Ligue 1 showdown with Bordeaux.

Paris Saint-Germain will be looking to cement their position atop the Ligue 1 rankings when they welcome Bordeaux to the Parc des Princes on Saturday evening.

The champions are two points clear of closest challengers Lille heading into their 12th game of the season, although their domestic winning streak was recently ended by Monaco, who overcame Thomas Tuchel's men 3-2 last Friday.

However, PSG go into this bout following a crucial 1-0 victory over RB Leipzig in the Champions League, with Neymar scoring the only goal of the night from the penalty spot on Tuesday evening.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up PSG's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's visit of Bordeaux.

Marquinhos

Status: Out
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: December 2 (vs. Manchester United)

Paris Saint-Germain confirmed on Friday that Marquinhos would be rested for this encounter due to a minor adductor injury. The Brazilian defender will be back in time for next week's showdown with Manchester United, though.

Idrissa Gueye

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: November 28 (vs. Bordeaux)

Idrissa Gueye - suspended for PSG's win over Leipzig - has recently suffered another injury setback with the hamstring problem he initially sustained in October's defeat to Manchester United. The midfielder played no part against Monaco but has an outside chance of returning to action against Bordeaux.

Mauro Icardi

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: November 28 (vs. Bordeaux)

Mauro Icardi has seen his game time in the 2020-21 campaign hampered by a knee injury he sustained during the October international break. However, the Argentine is believed to be making good progress in training and he could play a part against Bordeaux.

Julian Draxler

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: December 5 (vs. Montpellier)

Julian Draxler suffered a thigh injury in October's win over Dijon and has not taken to the field since. The Germany international will definitely miss out here but might be cleared for the trip to Montpellier next weekend.

Thilo Kehrer

Status: Out
Type of injury: Groin
Possible return date: Unknown

Thilo Kehrer is the first of PSG's two long-term absentees, with the German defender suffering an adductor injury against Rennes earlier in November. Kehrer is now set to undergo surgery and will likely be on the treatment table until February 2021.

Juan Bernat

Status: Out
Type of injury: ACL
Possible return date: Unknown

Juan Bernat, who has recently confirmed that he wants to pen fresh terms at the Parc des Princes, ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in the opening-day win over Metz. The left-back will be out of action until February 2021 at the very earliest, with Bernat likely to return in mid-March.

PSG'S SUSPENSION LIST

Abdou Diallo

Return date: December 2 (vs. Manchester United)

Abdou Diallo received a straight red card for hauling down Monaco's Kevin Volland last Friday, with the resulting penalty scored by Cesc Fabregas condemning PSG to defeat. Diallo has copped a one-match ban and will not be available for Saturday's visit of Bordeaux.
