Phil Jones 'determined to quit Manchester United in January'

Manchester United defender Phil Jones will reportedly look to secure a move away from Old Trafford during the next transfer window.

Manchester United defender Phil Jones is reportedly desperate to force an exit from Old Trafford after falling out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The 28-year-old has had his fair share of injury woes over the past year and has not taken to the pitch for the Red Devils since January, with the likes of Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly all preferred to Jones at centre-back.

Jones's compatriot Chris Smalling managed to complete a move to Roma in the most recent transfer window, but Jones currently remains at Old Trafford despite a lack of opportunities under Solskjaer, although the former Blackburn Rovers man could be set for an imminent departure.

According to The Sun, the defender will seek out a move elsewhere during the January transfer window, and Jones may not be short of offers after looking sharp in training recently.

Since arriving at Old Trafford in the summer of 2011, Jones has gone on to make 224 appearances for the Red Devils across all competitions, notching up six goals in that time.

The England international penned a new deal at Old Trafford last year keeping him on at United until 2023.
