Sunday's Ligue 1 predictions including Lyon vs. Marseille

Sports Mole provides score predictions for all of Sunday's Ligue 1 matches including Lyon vs. Marseille.

Montpellier vs. Nimes (Sunday, 12.00pm)

Montpellier HSC will be looking to stretch their unbeaten run in Ligue 1 to five games when they play host to Nimes on Sunday lunchtime.

Michel Der Zakarian's side were held to a 2-2 draw by Dijon last time out, while Nimes just about managed to salvage a draw of their own against Lens.

We say: Montpellier HSC 2-0 Nimes

Montpellier's lowly draw against Dijon was certainly an unexpected result for the high-flying ‎Paillade, who will be determined to put things right here. Nimes are in the middle of a tough run of fixtures but have held their own in the past couple of weeks, but we expect the hosts to prevail comfortably in this encounter.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Brest vs. Monaco (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Brest will be aiming to recover from their agonising defeat to Angers when they play host to Monaco at the Stade Francis-Le Ble on Sunday afternoon.

In contrast, Monaco are looking to win successive matches in Ligue 1 following their 3-2 victory over Strasbourg last weekend.

We say: Brest 1-2 Monaco

Monaco will be without a couple of key players for their trip to Brest, but the visitors have the attacking firepower to overcome most teams on their day. Brest should feel capable of coming away from this game with something to show for their efforts, but we are backing Monaco to get over the line and record a second victory in succession.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Bordeaux vs. Dijon (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Bordeaux will endeavour to win just their second game of the Ligue 1 season when they play host to basement side Dijon at the Stade Matmut Atlantique on Sunday afternoon.

Meanwhile, Dijon are rooted to the bottom of the table after picking up just one point from 15 on offer thus far.

We say: Bordeaux 2-0 Dijon

Bordeaux have proven to be incredibly difficult to break down this season, and a Dijon side boasting just three goals from five games is certainly not expected to breach the Girondins defence. While the visitors performed valiantly against Montpellier, we cannot see Bordeaux falling to defeat here and are backing the hosts to get back to winning ways.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Metz vs. Lorient (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Metz and Lorient will both be looking to register just their second win of the season when the two struggling sides meet at the Stade Saint-Symphorien for Sunday's Ligue 1 clash.

Metz managed to take a point off Marseille in a 1-1 stalemate in gameweek five, whereas Lorient drew by the same scoreline against Lyon last time out.

We say: Metz 2-2 Lorient

Both sides will be disheartened yet encouraged by their one-pointers against the Olympico rivals in gameweek five, and Metz may feel more confident of coming out on top given their improved performances over the past couple of weeks. Lorient have already shipped 10 goals this season, but they know how to find the net at the correct end of the pitch and we are expecting the points to be shared in a four-goal thriller on Sunday.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Strasbourg vs. Lille (Sunday, 2.00pm)

Strasbourg manager Thierry Laurey pictured in February 2020© Reuters

Two sides occupying spots at opposite ends of the table will lock horns on Sunday afternoon as a struggling Strasbourg welcome high-flyers Lille to the Stade de la Meinau.

The hosts suffered a narrow defeat to Monaco in gameweek five, whereas Lille got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Nantes last Friday.

We say: Strasbourg 0-2 Lille

Lille have already kept three clean sheets from five games this season and are facing a Strasbourg side who have only notched up four strikes at the correct end of the pitch. The hosts will be spurred on by their disheartening defeat to Monaco, but Les Dogues should run out comfortable winners on Sunday afternoon.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a draw or an away win.

Rennes vs. Reims (Sunday, 4.00pm)

Early Ligue 1 leaders Rennes will be looking to record a fifth consecutive victory in the French top flight when they play host to lowly Reims on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts brushed fellow high-flyers Saint-Etienne aside with ease last weekend, while Reims were put to the sword by champions Paris Saint-Germain in gameweek five.

We say: Rennes 3-0 Reims

Reims can boast an excellent record against Rennes over the past two seasons, but their winning streak against Stephan's men is sure to end here. Rennes are enjoying a fantastic spell of early-season form and have already chalked up a joint-high 12 goals this season, so we cannot see any other result than a straightforward victory for the table-toppers.

Our tipster partners are predicting a double chance bet on a home win or an away win.

Lyon vs. Marseille (Sunday, 8.00pm)

Lyon manager Rudi Garcia pictured on November 5, 2019© Reuters

Two Ligue 1 giants looking to get back to winning ways will lock horns in the Olympico as Lyon welcome Marseille to the Groupama Stadium for Sunday evening's mouthwatering showdown.

Both sides took a point from their most recent fixtures, with Lorient holding Lyon to a 1-1 draw while Marseille's game with Metz finished with the same scoreline.

We say: Lyon 1-1 Marseille

While a clash between Lyon and Marseille will have fans licking their lips at the prospect of an enticing showdown between two of France's most celebrated teams, neither side is heading into the game on a good run of form. Lyon are struggling to find the back of the net despite the attacking firepower at their disposal, but Marseille's record in front of goal also leaves a lot to be desired, so we expect this derby to finish all square.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.
