Nathan Evans could reclaim the number one spot from Lil Nas X in what looks set to be a close chart battle this week.

Lil Nas X is facing a fight to make it a second week on top of the charts, according to early sales data from the Official Charts Company.

The rapper went straight in at number one last week with his track 'Montero (Call Me By Your Name)' to end Nathan Evans's two-week reign at the summit with 'Wellerman'.

Based on the first 48 hours of sales, however, just 500 chart sales separate the pair this week, with the viral sea-shanty song currently holding the upper hand.

Riton and Nightcrawlers are also in with a shot of making it a brand new number one, with their collaboration 'Friday' tracking at three, a further 700 sales back.

Justin Bieber's 'Peaches' is down one spot top four in the midweeks, while Joel Corry's 'Bed' is up two to five.
