Former Team GB athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton is reportedly taking part in the new series of Channel 4's Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

The 33-year-old, who previously appeared on Dancing On Ice, specialised in the 400m hurdles but was forced into retirement in 2013 after persistent knee problems.

The new series of Celebrity SAS is currently being filmed in Vietnam for broadcast on Channel 4 next year, and The Sun says that Shakes-Drayton has flown out to become one of the recruits.

A source said: "Perri will prove a force to be reckoned with on SAS - she's a tough girl who will have the grit, determination and athleticism to get through the gruelling course.

"She'll be one to watch when the show airs next year."

Other celebs believed to be in the lineup include Liberty X's Michelle Heaton, singer Gareth Gates, rugby legend Gareth Thomas and former health secretary Matt Hancock.
