Former health secretary Matt Hancock is reportedly approached about appearing on the next series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Former health secretary Matt Hancock has reportedly been approached about appearing on the new series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

The 43-year-old was in his post throughout the coronavirus pandemic but was forced to resign in June 2021 after footage leaked showing him in a passionate embrace with a female aide - a breach of social distancing regulations in place at the time.

Producers are currently finalising the lineup for the 2023 edition of Celebrity SAS, with filming due to start in a matter of weeks, and The Sun says that Hancock is one of their top targets.

"Matt impressed Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins producers when he spoke to them and they want him to take part," a source told the newspaper.

"He would be the biggest name to have signed up for the next series and it would be a real coup for the show.

"Matt knows there is a mixed perception of him in the public eye and he thinks going on the show would reveal a different side to himself.

"It is not unusual for MPs to take part in these kinds of shows and Matt thinks he could go far on SAS, despite it being the hardest of all the reality series on television."

Also believed to be in the lineup for the new series is former Pop Idol star Gareth Gates.
