Eamonn Holmes says that he is still undergoing "tiring" physiotherapy for his ongoing back issues.

Eamonn Holmes has given fans an update on his recovery following back surgery earlier this year.

The veteran presenter, 63, underwent an operation in a bid to help relieve his chronic pain condition but suffered a setback in November when he fell at home, breaking his shoulder.

Now the GB News host is having regular physiotherapy sessions to build back up his fitness, but he has admitted that he is often left exhausted by the experience.

"Worked hard at my physio this morning," he wrote on Twitter. "Very tiring but I've now sat on my backside for 5 hours and feel bad about doing nothing.

"Lack of mobility & depending on others stops me doing really simple things.

"For peace of mind I feel another round of foot exercises coming on."

Holmes has been absent from GB News since September while he recovers, and although he had been expected to return to host the breakfast show in the new year, his latest health update suggests that his return may be delayed.
