Gareth Gates has reportedly signed up to take part in the next series of Channel 4's extreme challenge series Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

The show, which puts famous faces through an SAS-style selection course, has just started airing a new series with celebs including Fatima Whitbread, Calum Best and Maisie Smith taking part.

According to The Sun, producers have already assembled the lineup for the next series and former Pop Idol singer Gates, 38, is among them.

"Gareth loves the show and is always looking for new challenges so when the opportunity came up he couldn't turn it down," a source told the newspaper.

"He knows it won't be easy but he's looking forward to getting stuck in and can't wait to start."

Filming on the new series is due to begin next month for broadcast on Channel 4 in 2023.
