Danny Dyer will reportedly host Channel 4's new reality series Scared of the Dark following his EastEnders exit.

Danny Dyer has reportedly signed up to host Channel 4's new celebrity reality series Scared of the Dark.

In the show, which is expected to air next year, a group of famous faces will be challenged to survive a week without sunlight in a specially-constructed living space.

Dyer has played the role of Mick Carter on EastEnders for the last nine years but will bow out this Christmas in an explosive storyline, and The Sun says that one of his next gigs will be as host of the innovative new C4 format.

"Danny is really excited to be attached to such a fun and different project," a source said of Dyer, who also hosts gameshow The Wall for BBC One.

"It's a brilliant show and he's looking forward to showing off his mischievous side.

"He loves being a host and is keen to do more entertainment work."

Celebs rumoured to be in the lineup for the show include former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, footballing legend Paul Gascoigne, former boxers Chris Eubank and Nicola Adams, The Wanted's Max George and Love Island's Chloe Burrows.
