The BBC picks up the first series of Aussie teen comedy Bump for BBC One and iPlayer.

The BBC has announced that it has acquired the first series of Aussie comedy Bump for BBC One and iPlayer.

The show centres around schoolgirl Oly (Nathalie Morris), who suddenly discovers that she is pregnant when she goes into labour one day - and realises that her boyfriend is not the father.

"Bump is a funny, quirky, keenly observed dramedy that takes a fresh and frank look at embracing the unexpected," said Sue Deeks, the BBC's head of acquisitions.

"Viewers will really enjoy getting to know Oly and her loving but complicated relationships with family and friends."

The 10-episode first series will debut on iPlayer in the coming months, while the second and third series are already in development down under.
