Alan Carr is reportedly wanted to appear as a judge on new reality show Mamma Mia! I Have a Dream.

Alan Carr is reportedly being courted for a job on the judging panel of new talent show Mamma Mia! I Have a Dream.

The new show - airing on ITV1 later this year - will look to cast the parts of Sophie and Sky in a new production of the ABBA-themed West End musical.

Earlier this year Carr, 46, was in the frame to replace David Walliams on Britain's Got Talent, only for the role to go to Bruno Tonioli - but according to The Sun, ITV now plans to offer him a different show.

"Alan felt fed up that he missed out on the BGT judging role to Bruno Tonioli, but getting the Abba show would go a long way towards compensating him," a source told the newspaper.

"And he'd be the perfect fit because, like the Swedish singing legends, he is huge fun, brilliantly camp and loved by millions of viewers.

"It just remains to be seen if Alan and ITV can hammer out a deal because he is very in demand at the moment."

Filming on the show is due to begin next month.
