Strictly Come Dancing producers are said to be determined to feature the show's first all-male couple this year.

Strictly Come Dancing producers are said to be hopeful of featuring the show's first all-male couple on this year's series.

The long-running dance show introduced its first ever same-sex couple last year as gay boxer Nicola Adams partnered up with professional Katya Jones, although they were forced to withdraw several weeks in due to a coronavirus scare.

According to The Sun, this year a male couple is on the cards, with Westlife's Mark Feehily said to be top of the casting wishlist.

"Strictly bosses are keen to keep the momentum going after their historical all-female pairing last year," a source told the newspaper.

"They want to be as progressive and inclusive as possible and think it would be great to include a same-sex male couple.

"It's been done before on Dancing On Ice and all the pros are on board with the move.

"They'd all love to get creative with choreography and help break down boundaries."

The new series is due to begin on BBC One in September.
