Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden is to host a new dance series for BBC One Wales.

Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden is to host a new dance show for BBC One Wales, it has been announced.

The six-part show is called Amy Dowden's Dare To Dance and will see Dowden assist a different person or group each episode as they attempt to surprise friends and family with a special dance routine.

"I'm thrilled to be fronting my own series for BBC Wales," said Dowden, who was partnered with Tom Fletcher for the 2021 series of Strictly.

"Dance can have such a positive impact on physical and mental health, socialising and self-confidence so it'll be a privilege to share my passion with people and help them experience their own special moment on the dancefloor.

"It's going to be such a joyous and uplifting show and I can't wait to take people on their own dance journey."

Dare To Dance is expected to air in early 2023.
