Steve Allen 'issues private apology to Tilly Ramsay'
Steve Allen reportedly contacts Tilly Ramsay to apologise for calling her "a chubby little thing" on his LBC show.

LBC host Steve Allen has reportedly contacted Tilly Ramsay to apologise for his comments about her last week.

The veteran broadcaster, 67, sparked outrage after he referred to Strictly Come Dancing star Ramsay, 19, as "a chubby little thing" during Wednesday's edition of his early morning talkshow.

Allen failed to acknowledge the row, or apologise for his comments, when he returned to the airwaves on Thursday and Friday, but according to the Daily Star, he has reached out to her privately to make amends.

"Tilly has been given a full apology by Steve. He wanted to make it clear that he is very sorry to have upset her," a source told the newspaper.

"It was sent privately because he didn't want it to look like it was done for publicity."

Allen has allegedly been subject of calls to be sacked by his own colleagues following his comments.
