Jamie Laing vows not to fall victim to Strictly curse

Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing promises his co-star girlfriend that he will not fall victim to the notorious curse on Strictly Come Dancing.

Made In Chelsea star Jamie Laing has vowed not to fall victim to the infamous "Strictly curse".

Last week the 31-year-old was confirmed as one of the celebrities taking part in this year's Strictly Come Dancing, having been announced as part of the original lineup last year before withdrawing through injury.

The show has a long history of celebrities and their professional partners falling for each other in what has come to be known as the Strictly curse, but Laing insists that his one-year relationship with MIC co-star Sophie Habboo is solid.

"I am being asked all the time about the Strictly curse and do you know, poor Sophie had no clue about this whole curse thing," he told The Mirror.

"She had no idea that everyone couples up when they do Strictly Come Dancing. But hey listen, I don't think I am a bad guy so I don't think it will be too bad in the end.

"I am not going to kiss my dancer. It is not like I am going to be some magnet, you know? I don't think the dancer is going to come anywhere near me."

The new series of Strictly begins on BBC One in October.
