Italian hunk 'lined up as Aljaz Skorjanec replacement on Strictly'
Strictly Come Dancing producers reportedly consider bringing in Italian dancer Pasquale La Rocca for this year's series.

Italian dancer Pasquale La Rocca is reportedly in the frame to replace Aljaz Skorjanec on Strictly Come Dancing this year.

Fan favourite Skorjanec confirmed last month that he had decided to leave the ballroom contest after nine series, creating an opening for another professional to join the lineup.

La Rocca, 32, has experience with the format, having appeared on both the Belgian and Irish versions of Dancing With The Stars, lifting the glitterball trophy an impressive three times.

"Strictly bosses have drawn up a wishlist and would love Pasquale as long as they could prise him away from the Irish show," a show source told The Mirror. "He is super-talented and an exciting prospect."

Apart from Skorjanec and Oti Mabuse, who has also quit this year, all of the other professionals from last year will be back for the new series.

Producers are currently working on deals for the celebrities in the lineup ahead of the show returning to BBC One in September.
