Stellan Skarsgard and Kyle Soller are reportedly in "final negotiations" to appear in the new Rogue One prequel TV series.

Good Will Hunting actor Stellan Skarsgard is reportedly poised to join the cast of Disney+'s upcoming Rogue One spinoff series.

The Star Wars franchise movie was released in 2016 and introduced the character of Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), an intelligence officer for the Rebel Alliance and leader of a rebel unit called Rogue One.

A prequel TV series centred around Luna's character was announced in 2018, with plans to debut the show on streaming service Disney+ at some point in 2021.

According to Variety, Skarsgard is in "final negotiations" over joining the cast in an unspecified role, as is stage actor Kyle Soller, who won an Olivier for his role in epic play 'The Inheritance'.

The prequel series will also see Alan Tudyk reprise his role as Andor's droid assistant K-2SO.
