Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello call time on their romance after two years together but vow to "be best friends".

Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello have announced that they have decided to end their "romantic relationship" after two years together.

The singers got together in the summer of 2019 as they released a duet, 'Senorita', and appeared to be going from strength to strength, with Mendes even moving into the Cabello family home during the coronavirus lockdowns of 2020.

The pair released identical statements on their Instagram Stories revealing a surprise split on Wednesday night, however, although they vowed to remain "best friends".

"Hey guys, we've decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever," it read.

"We started out relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward."
