Gemma Collins 'earning over £100,000 from BBC podcast'

Gemma Collins is reportedly pocketing more than £100,000 for the next series of her BBC Sounds podcast, The Gemma Collins Podcast.

The BBC is reportedly paying Gemma Collins more than £100,000 for the next series of her podcast, The Gemma Collins Podcast.

The 40-year-old has been hosting the podcast for BBC Sounds since 2019 and it is said to be one of the app's most popular shows with younger listeners.

As a result, The Sun claims that the BBC has paid the former TOWIE star a six-figure sum to host a new series, which will begin on March 10.

"Since Gemma's podcast first aired it's proved a hit and the BBC just can't get enough of her," a source told the newspaper. "Gemma is a ratings hit for TV shows and the same can be said for radio, as her podcast gets thousands of downloads each week.

"It's gold for the BBC and they're keen to keep her on board for as long as possible. Her pay cheque for the next series is over £100,000 and as far as the bosses are concerned – Gemma is worth every penny.

"No topics are off limits on Gemma's podcast and that's what makes it so unique. It feels so personal and you never know what is coming next."

Topics covered by The GC on the podcast recently have included her desire to get her parents reanimated as robots, her belief that she is descended from witches and her obsession with eating tiger loaves.
