Dougie Poynter reportedly calls time on his three-year relationship with model girlfriend Maddy Elmer.

McFly star Dougie Poynter has reportedly broken up with his model girlfriend Maddy Elmer after three years.

The 34-year-old musician - winner of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2011 - moved in with Elmer, 26, last year and has previously spoken about his desire to start a family with her.

According to The Sun, however, the couple have now sadly gone separate ways after a "very hard" coronavirus lockdown.

"Maddy and Dougie seemed to be a great match," a source told the newspaper. "They had a lot in common, including their passion for unusual animals, like insects and reptiles.

"But like a lot of couples they found lockdown very hard and they decided to split last year.

"It was a very upsetting time for both of them, but the decision was mutual."

Poynter will link up with his McFly bandmates for a tour of Brazil in May, with a series of UK gigs following over the summer.
