Dev joins Heart FM after Radio 1 exit

Heart FM sign up Dev to be the new host of Saturday afternoons following his exit from Radio 1.

Heart FM has signed up Dev to be the new host of Saturday afternoons on the station from the New Year.

The presenter will exit Radio 1 after 11 years later this month as part of a huge shakeup of the station's schedules.

Now Heart has confirmed that he will take on the 12pm to 4pm Saturday slot starting January 2, with incumbent Zoe Hardman moving to Saturday breakfast.

"Dev is a huge talent and we're over the moon to welcome him to Heart," said Andy Everett, managing editor at Heart. "He brings a fresh new sound to weekends on Heart and I'm sure our listeners will instantly connect with him.

"We're very much looking forward to having him on the team as we look ahead to another huge year on the UK's favourite commercial radio station."

Dev added: "What a way to start the year with a brand new show on Heart! I'm super excited to be part of the Global family and I think I'll fit in perfectly with Heart's feel-good uplifting vibes.

"This is a big move for me and I can't wait to get started."

Dev's final show for Radio 1 will air on December 20.
