Radio 1 DJ and I'm A Celebrity star Adele Roberts reveals that she is battling bowel cancer at the age of 42.

Radio 1 DJ Adele Roberts has revealed that she is battling bowel cancer at the age of 42.

The presenter found fame appearing on the third series of Big Brother in 2002 and went on to carve out a successful career as a DJ.

Roberts, who also appeared on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2019, announced on social media that she received her diagnosis after getting a digestion issue checked out by doctors.

"I'll be honest, I was embarrassed but I also knew that it could be something serious. So I went just in case. I didn't think anything of it at first and just assumed it might be food sensitivity," she wrote.

"After a few phone calls I was sent for some examinations and checks. I was then diagnosed with bowel cancer. This was at the start of the month."

Roberts added that she is undergoing surgery today to remove the tumour and then will have more checks to see if the cancer has spread.
