ITV 'wants Jade Thirlwall for Stars In Their Eyes reboot'

ITV reportedly intends to approach Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall about appearing as a judge on Starstruck.

ITV is reportedly planning to approach Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall about becoming a judge on Starstruck, its upcoming reboot of Stars In Their Eyes.

The show - airing in late 2021 - will see members of the public get makeovers to look like their favourite musical acts before taking to the stage and performing.

Sheridan Smith and Adam Lambert have already signed up to be part of the judging panel and according to The Sun, Thirlwall is being targeted as the third judge.

"After seeing her on Drag Race UK, and then as a coach on the band's own show, The Search, the bosses think she is made for the role and they now want to make her one of ITV's stars," a source told the newspaper.

"Jade is funny, witty and is a seriously talented musician.

"ITV is preparing to approach Jade and has said it would be prepared to pay good money to get her on board.

"But Jade is incredibly busy and she is due to go on tour with her bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards in May, when filming is expected to start.

"If she doesn't bite, it's back to the drawing board over Christmas."

Applications for contestants for the series have now opened online.
