I Hate Suzie renewed for second series

Sky announces that it has given the green light to a second series of Billie Piper's I Hate Suzie, although filming will not start until next year.

Sky has confirmed that Billie Piper's comedy drama I Hate Suzie is to return for a second series.

The show - co-created by Piper and Lucy Prebble - stars the Doctor Who actress as Suzie Pickles, a former popstar and TV actress whose life begins to fall apart after her phone is hacked and explicit photos are leaked.

News of the renewal was confirmed in a tweet from Sky's account, which also revealed that filming of the new series is not due to begin until next year.

"We are so excited to continue the journey of Suzie Pickles," the broadcaster said. "Filming starts in 2022. More news to come (our lips are sealed until then)"

Originally premiering on Sky Atlantic last August, the show is thought to have averaged more than 1 million viewers in the UK, while it has also been released in the US through HBO Max.
