Harvey Weinstein hit with new sexual assault charges

Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein is charged with fresh counts of sexual assault.

Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein has been charged with fresh sexual assault allegations in Los Angeles.

The 68-year-old was sentenced to 23 years behind bars in New York in February after being found guilty of two charges, including rape in the third degree.

Weinstein also has charges pending in California, including rape and forced oral sex, and now another woman has come forward to allege that he attacked her in a Beverly Hills hotel in May 2010.

LA County District Attorney Jackie Lacey told Variety: "We are continuing to build and strengthen our case. As we gather corroborating evidence, we have reached out to other possible sexual assault victims.

"If we find new evidence of a previously unreported crime, as we did here, we will investigate and determine whether additional criminal charges should be filed."

If found guilty of all the outstanding charges, Weinstein could face an additional 32-year sentence.
